Community Based & Open to All
The JAZZ EDUCATORS COMMUNITY COALITION (JECC) offers aspiring jazz musicians an opportunity to connect with recognized leaders in South Florida jazz community, as well as national and international jazz talent.
Training & Performing
Utilizing a workshop format, young musicians receive performance training and learn jazz pedagogy. The program meets every Saturday from 1:00pm - 4:00pm at the WDNA studio (located at 2921 Coral Way, Miami, FL 33145). Each session is $5.00 per student.
A critical part of the program involves live performances. The JECC have an active performance calendar in venues across South Florida.
The JECC ensemble have performed in the Art Deco festival, South Dade Cultural Arts Center, Pinecrest Gardens, Art Walk of Hollywood, Olympia Theater, the Dade County Auditorium at which the were the opening act for the great Paquito D'Rivera, among many more.

We are welcome and are open to new students looking to learn and grow, new clinicians who are looking to make music and make a difference.
The JECC workshop is designed to connect professional jazz musicians and educators with young musicians interested in Jazz, to provide instruction not typically found in traditional school ensemble music programs. Sessions include guided practice sessions, jazz performance protocol and nuance, as well as jazz pedagogy.
